South Ossetia and Republic of North Ossetia-Alania actively cooperate at all levels of government structures, President Alan Gagloev has noted at the press conference on Saturday.
“For example, the Parliaments of our Republics signed an agreement on cooperation in legislative activities.
This document opened up new opportunities for joint work on bills and strengthening our ties.
In addition, at the level of the heads of republics, governments, ministries and departments, we are in constant interaction,” the President has noted.
He has added that the people, connected by a common history, language, culture and traditions, were divided by political circumstances: South Ossetia is the independent state today, and North Ossetia is part of the Russian Federation.
“However, this does not change the deep essence of our ties. We have always been and remain one nation, and this unity is maintained at all levels,” the head of state has noted.
According to him, these ties are strong not only at the level of state policy, but also at the level of society - residents of South Ossetia and North Ossetia have been actively interacting, often visiting each other.
