Mission of the International committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is realizing the project on clearing and partial repair of the irrigation canal in the village Tsorbis of Znaursky region in South Ossetia. It has been reported to the news agency "Res" by the representative of the mission on public relations Marina Tedety. «The part of the irrigation canal providing the farmland of the inhabitants with water has been damaged as a result of the landslip and did not function. There are 126 court yards in the village Tsorbis, the population had problems with irrigation of their lots, - Tedety has told. - On behalf of the villagers their representative has addressed to us with the request of rendering them assistance in resolving this problem. Our engineers have studied the condition of the irrigating system and have made a decision to develop and realize its restoration project».
As she said, the part of repair work had been already executed. In particular the site of irrigating system more than 100 meters, damaged as a result of landslip, has been already restored. «The rest of works provided in the project are now coming to the end. We plan to finish works on restoration of the irrigating system by the end of this month», - the interlocutor of the agency has added. As Tedety has noted, the countrymen are actively rendering aid to the employees of the Mission.
