In Tskhinval have started the actions devoted to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Defence of South Ossetia and the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.
As reported to IA "Res" by the RSO Defence Minister Valery Yakhnovets, the events will start today with a round table, where the participants will discuss the events of the early 1990s, when Georgia launched a military aggression against South Ossetia. At the round table are invited the women- witnesses of those events.
"Tomorrow, February 19, will be held a ceremony of fastening of the colour cloth of the Flag of the Armed Forces of the RSO to a flagstaff - said Yakhnovets. - Then, on February 21 at the Theater Square in Tskhinval will be held the ritual presentation of the Banner of the Armed Forces of South Ossetia. February 22 will be held a solemn meeting devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Ministry of Defense. At the training ground '' Dzartsem'' will also be held the war games demonstrated by our units."
February 23, on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland, will be put wreaths at the monument to "Defenders of the Fatherland" in Tskhinval, as well as the laying of flowers at the memorial cemetery in the yard of the school № 5 and at the former military base of the Russian peacekeeping forces.
"On the same day, a solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and performance of Special Forces of the Defense Ministry," - said Yakhnovets.
Furthermore, February 23 in honor of the defenders of the Fatherland in the Republican capital will take place a gala concert. The guests from Russia, North Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria will arrive in the Republic to participate in the festivities, concluded the minister.
