Questions to refer the citizens of South Ossetia for emergency medical care outside the Republic were discussed during today's meeting of the RSO President Leonid Tibilov with the heads of relevant ministries and agencies.
As IA "Res" has been informed at the press service of the president and the government of South Ossetia, the meeting was attended by the head of the Presidential Administration, Boris Chochiev, Deputy Prime Ministers Domenty Kulumbegov, Alla Dzhioeva and Guram Melkoev, Health Minister Grigory Kulidzhanov, Foreign Minister David Sanakoev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.
In particular, the subject of discussion at the meeting was the frequent facts to refer citizens of South Ossetia, with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross to medical institutions in neighboring Georgia.
The head of state said that the fact of referral to the Georgian health clinics and their increased frequency is unfounded, as there is a government decree "On the referral of the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia to medical institutions outside the country, in order to provide them emergency medical care," which should be strictly followed by South Ossetian citizens. According to the President, the only unobstructed points of medical care for the citizens of the Republic are the Russian medical institutions.
"The document clearly states that, with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the patient can be sent to other states in cases of emergency- if the patient's condition does not allow to be transported to health clinics of the Russian Federation", - he stressed.
The President instructed the relevant authorities to deal with these issues and assume special control over them.
During the meeting were also discussed the current issues on the appeals of the citizens to the President. He called on the heads of ministries, departments and district administrations of the Republic, to be more attentive to people's problems and solve them on the spot.
