Questions of interaction of law enforcement agencies to ensure the national security of South Ossetia have been discussed today during the meeting of the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Rashid Nurgaliyev with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The meeting was attended by Speaker of the RSO Parliament Stanislav Kochiev, First Deputy Prime Minister Domenty Kulumbegov, Chairman of the Security Council Anatoly Pliev and the Ambassador of Russia to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev.
At the beginning of the meeting, Leonid Tibilov thanked Rashid Nurgaliyev for his contribution to the security and development of the statehood of South Ossetia.
"Thanks to you, the premises of the town and the district Interior Ministry units are repaired, equipped, the working conditions of law enforcement officers meet modern standards," - said the president.
He has stressed that the main challenge facing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia is a struggle against crime and corruption.
"The staff of the Interior Ministry aims at serious work; they have already achieved some success. It is necessary to solve a lot of problems and we will be addressing them together. The most important thing is that there is cohesion of the team, understanding that our young nation needs a clear-organized work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs "- said Tibilov.
The President has also noted that the close cooperation between the security defence and law enforcement agencies of the Republic promote to solve their issues more efficiently.
In turn Rashid Nurgaliyev noted the important role of the law enforcement agencies in ensuring the national security of the Republic.
"The fight against corruption and other forms of crime, ensuring of human rights and freedoms, the rule of law - that is our direct duty, the task of the security forces. You interact not only in theory, but also in practice, "- said Nurgaliyev.
Rashid Nurgaliyev is in South Ossetia on a working visit. Together with the President of the Republic Nurgaliyev made a trip to Leningor district.
