The servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia for the first time took part in the military parade in honor of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, held in the Donetsk People's Republic.
As reported by the Donetsk news agency, military equipment and marching formations marched through the center of Donetsk.
The solemn procession of the troops was led by the Deputy Defense Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic, Major-General, Hero of the Donetsk People's Republic Sergei Velikorodny. Following him, the youngest participants of the parade - a company of pupils of the Republican Military Lyceum - came to the central street of Artem. Among them was Sergei Tolstykh - the son of the Hero of the DPR, the legendary battalion commander Mikhail Tolstykh (Givi).
The parade was also attended by the units of the power structures of the DNR, distinguished in the battles for Saur-Mogyla, Slavyansk, Debaltsevo, Ilovaysk, Uglegorsk.
The marching formations of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia became the first and so far the only foreign unit that took part in the military parade in the DNR. About 100 South Ossetian servicemen marched along with the. marching formations of the power structures of the Donetsk Republic.
The brightest part of the Parade was the mechanized column, headed by the legendary T-34, the Guard mortal rocket Katyusha and other examples of military equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War.
Demonstration of modern models of military equipment was opened by the BTR-80 column of the Sparta battalion, the commander of which was Hero of the Donetsk People's Republic Arsen Pavlov (Motorola). It was followed by BMP, T-64 and T-72 tanks, Strela-10 missile systems, Gvozdika self-propelled guns, Grad missile system, regimental mortars, Rapier anti-tank guns, D-30 and Msta-B howitzers.
The parade was watched by 35 thousand residents of the DPR and guests from the regions of Donbass controlled by Kiev.
