Five years ago, the international community knew little about South Ossetia, today the situation has changed, but nevertheless, it is necessary to write more about the events in the country in the electronic media, said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSO in Italy, Mauro Murgia.
"During one of my visits to the Republic, at a meeting with students, I asked them to write as much as possible about South Ossetia and the events happened here, and spread it on the Internet," Murgia said. "Because the information on the Republic on the Internet is not enough."
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in the Apennines also spoke about the events taken place on various dates in the modern history of the Republic.
According to him, one of the actions held in the Italian city of Pesaro was dedicated to the victims of the Georgian aggression in South Ossetia.
"During the event, the Tree of Peace was planted in memory of the perished," Murgia said. "If you visit the city of Pesaro, know that there is a park in which such a tree grows."
According to him, the embassy and the Georgian Foreign Ministry tried to press on the municipality of the city of Pesaro, but they failed to disrupt the holding of the action.
In addition, Mauro Murgia called a courageous decision of the Mayor of Gradaro Filippo Gasperi to conclude cooperation agreements with the head of the administration of the capital of South Ossetia.
He has also added that the eight provinces of the island of Sardinia have already signed agreements on friendship and cooperation with South Ossetia.
