President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, met with representatives of the movement “Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice”. The meeting was also attended by the Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights Inal Tasoev and the Сhairman of the organization “Memory and Hope” Lidiya Kudzieva.
Anatoly Bibilov noted the great work being done by women who lost their loved ones during the Georgian aggression.
“The work you are doing is worth a lot. Despite the pain, you show the strength of character, tune in to the positive, to life, supporting people in difficult life situations. I absolutely agree with the first president of Abkhazia, who said that the victory of the Abkhaz people belongs mostly to the mothers of the heroes of Abkhazia. Vladislav Ardzinba was a very wise man, really the heroism of your loved ones belongs to you, as well as the heroism of the Ossetian warriors, belongs to their mothers,” said the President.
The Chairman of the movement “Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice” Gulnara Kichba said that she had been cooperating with the South Ossetian organization “Memory and Hope” for more than ten years.
“We, of course, are united by grief, and our children have sealed this brotherhood with blood. And now we are continuing the work of our sons, brothers, husbands, so that future generations will remember and there will never be war,” she said.
Gulnara Kichba said that she and Lydia Kudzieva had repeatedly traveled to other countries, where they were trying to convey the truth about the events in Abkhazia and South Ossetia to the public.
“We are talking about one thing, that we only want peace. We did not attack anyone, we only defended ourselves. Unfortunately, the war has brought a lot of grief, and our organization is healing these wounds. It provides psychological, moral support to the families of the victims, widows and veterans,” she said.
At the end of the meeting, the President thanked representatives of the movement “Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice” for their interaction with South Ossetian organizations and wished them fruitful and successful work.
