President of South Ossetian Anatoly Bibilov congratulated the Abkhaz colleague Raul Khadjimba and the people of Abkhazia on the Day of Liberation and Victory of the Republic in the Patriotic War II, the press service of the head of state reports.
“Over its long history, fraternal Abkhazia has gone through many trials, always overcoming them with honor and dignity. The key to the victories of Abkhazia is the high patriotism inherent in its people, unshakable faith, unity, readiness at any time to defend their native country. This holiday unites all who honor the glorious history of their Motherland and believe in its worthy future. It has become the embodiment of heroism, resilience, unparalleled courage and greatness of the spirit of the people,” the congratulation says.
According to Anatoly Bibilov, today the Republic of Abkhazia is a dynamically developing country that is confidently looking to the future and is steadily strengthening its independent statehood.
“I am convinced that the relations of fraternal friendship and mutual respect between our peoples, based on a common historical destiny, will continue to be strengthened and developed for the benefit of our peoples,” the head of state concluded.
On Monday Abkhazia is celebrating the Victory and Independence Day.
The Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia lasted 413 days and ended with the defeat of the Georgian troops on September 30, 1993.
Volunteers from the North Caucasus, the South of Russia, various Russian cities, as well as from South Ossetia came to the aid of the people of Abkhazia.
