The T. Shevchenko National University of Lugansk People's Republic and the A.Tibilov South Ossetian State University. will create a scientific community, this was announced on Tuesday during a meeting of President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov with the rector of the university Elena Tregubenko and the Deputy Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of the LPR Galina Sorokina, who arrived in Tskhinval to sign a Cooperation Agreement with the SOSU, the press service of the President and the government reports.
The meeting was also attended by the rector of the SOSU Vadim Tedeev.
As noted by the head of state, the relations that have developed between South Ossetia and the Lugansk People’s Republic contribute to the development of interaction in the educational sphere.
“We must work together so that our applicants of various degrees can defend at the Higher Attestation Commission of the Luhansk People’s Republic. Such interaction is important for both South Ossetia and Lugansk. We already have a similar practice with the Donetsk People’s Republic,” said Anatoly Bibilov.
Assuring the guests of the inviolability of his position with regard to the republics of Donbass, the President emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and developing educational processes in both South Ossetia and the Lugansk and Donetsk people's republics.
“These are the connections of young people seriously engaged in science. I think this direction has a serious future. And I’m sure that our university and higher educational institutions of Lugansk and Donetsk will closely cooperate,” he said.
For her part, Yelena Tregubenko has expressed confidence that all the existing agreements will not remain on paper, but will be implemented in practical activities.
“We have already previously talked with Vadim Botazovich about the joint work: this is the defense of your scientists in our dissertation councils, this is the work in terms of grant-application activities, there may be joint monographs and scientific publications and much more.
We have a very large university, where there are more than seven areas of training. I think that both sides will be interested in scientific and educational cooperation,” said the rector.
Galina Sorokina also told the President about her plans.
“We will create a scientific community with the SOGU. On the basis of our university, we also plan to create dissertation councils. We can achieve a lot with regard to science and other areas. . I think that soon we will actively join the common work,” she said.
Anatoly Bibilov, in turn, supported the proposals of the Lugansk side.
“I think that it will be useful for students and teachers of the SOSU to get acquainted with your culture and country. I remember when children from Lugansk visited our summer camp, they were impressed by the majestic beauty of the mountains and the picturesque nature of South Ossetia. I consider it important to study this issue and its practical implementation,” the President said.
