During the conversation, issues of the ICRC’s humanitarian activities in South Ossetia were discussed, especially in the areas bordering Georgia. Particular attention was paid to the work to determine the fate of the missing residents of South Ossetia. The meeting participants noted the need for continued cooperation in this sensitive humanitarian sphere in the format of the Coordination Mechanism to address the issue of missing persons.
The meeting, held in the spirit of constructivism, was also attended by the Human Rights Ombudsman under the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, member of the Coordination Mechanism Inal Tasoev, and Nana Tedeeva, representative of the ICRC in South Ossetia.
