On the eve of the 12th anniversary of the treacherous attack by the Georgian armed forces on South Ossetia, 106 public organizations of the North Caucasian peoples living in the Republic of Turkey made a special appeal in response to the informational stuffing, of an obviously provocative nature, of certain pro-Georgian "organizations", the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia reports..

The text of the statement (translated from Turkish) has been published on the official website of the Foreign Ministry.

PUBLIC STATEMENT of the OSSETIAN FUND OF CULTURE AND MUTUAL AID "ALAN", the Federation of Abkhaz society (ABHAZFED), Federation of United Caucasian Society (BIRKAFFED), the Federation of Circassian society (CHERKESFED) and the Federation of Caucasian society (KAFFED) accredited in the Republic of Turkey

As you know, we - public organizations of immigrants from the North Caucasus, on August 8, 2020, on the twelfth anniversary of the attack by the Georgian armed forces on South Ossetia and the killing of thousands of innocent victims by them, held commemorative events, where we once again condemned the perpetrators in the face of history, published relevant materials in MEDIA. We do not want anyone to continue to experience such grief.

As representatives of the North Caucasian diaspora in the Republic of Turkey, we would like to state that we have never interrupted our connection with our historical homeland. We are accustomed to the Anatolian land, but part of our soul and heart was inextricably linked with our Motherland. We are not an artificially created diaspora, designed or assembled in one place through various promises.

Since 1864, the North Caucasian diaspora in Turkey has always followed everything that happens in Abkhazia, Adygea, Chechnya, Kabarda, Balkaria, Karachai, Circassia and Ossetia, which are our Motherland. We shared the pain of our brothers and did our best to help overcome it, were together and in joy, because we are always one.

At every historical stage since 1864, the diaspora of the North Caucasus has been part of Turkish society. Being cut off from our historical homeland, we threw ourselves into the arms of our second homeland - the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic became its blood and soul, leaders and soldiers, workers and employers. We are all proud of this.

Before the great exodus, we lived in our homeland - Abazins, Adygs, Chechens and Ossetians - like brothers. We also live in Turkey today. We care and support each other.

We have established good relations with the peoples around us. In modern Turkey, many Abazins, Adygs and Ossetians live in the countryside next to Georgians, Lazes, Kurds and Turks. They build family relations, create communities, and become the people of a common state.

Over the past 27 years, it has become customary that fascist and imperialist forces achieve their goals, ignoring the brotherhood of peoples. These imperialist forces are making efforts to sow seeds of discord among the peoples living in Turkey within the framework of the law of good neighborliness, respect and love for each other.

We also observe with regret the efforts of the hostile centers. We see how some fictitious structures and fictitious Diasporas distort history, trying to make statements on order about the August 2008 events in South Ossetia.

Today we see that those who attacked the innocent Ossetian people with rockets, tanks on the night of August 8, 2008, who killed hundreds of people, including women, children and the elderly, taking the position of the victim, declare: “they attacked us ".

Over the past 12 years, we remember the genocide of Ossetians by the fascist Georgian government in 2008. For 12 years no opposite statements were heard in the Republic of Turkey, and suddenly it is not clear who, suddenly appeared, three days ago, disseminated the so-called "information" about the events in South Ossetia.

After our statement on the twelfth anniversary of the genocide, some NGOs with Georgian roots announced that two regions of Georgia had been occupied by the Russian Federation in 2008, and condemned "Russian imperialism", suggesting Turkey to do the same.

Of course, it is necessary to condemn imperialism in any case. But this is not a situation where you can deliberately mislead society to cover up your own imperialist-fascist ambitions. In this Georgian statement, “two regions” are named without mentioning the names of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia / Alania.

However, these two countries, which are our Motherland, are not historically part of Georgia. Abkhazia and South Ossetia, during the collapse of the Soviet Union, using the legal right to express their will, declared their independence.

The response of the fascist Georgian government to the decision of the Abkhaz and Ossetians, the ancient peoples of the region, was cruel. As a result of the Georgian attack on South Ossetia and Abkhazia, thousands of civilian defenseless people were killed, displaced and expelled. In this war, the Adygs and Chechens, together with our other North Caucasian brothers, supported their brothers Abkhaz and Ossetians, together they repulsed the attack of thousands of Georgians.

This imperialist attack, which defies description and paid for with great blood, led to the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The shortsighted rulers of Georgia, who decided to start a war and took the lives of thousands of people, today are cursed by the Georgian people themselves and are seeking refuge in the world.

The declaration of the mentioned fictitious societies, which has no legal force for us, is a warning of what might happen in the future. Our country, the Republic of Turkey, must understand the nuances of the dangerous game played by the artificial diaspora supported from abroad and prevent the implementation of plans aimed at delimiting the fraternal peoples living here.

The peoples with whom we live in Turkey side by side as brothers should not take part in the intrigues of incomprehensible people and organizations that have no historical and geographical ties with them.

We, as representatives of the leading North Caucasian civil society organizations in Turkey, will not succumb to various provocations and will not allow the use of meaningless policy of puppet communities.

We are not enemies of the Georgian people, and the people of Georgia are not enemies of the peoples of the North Caucasus. Georgians, like other Caucasian peoples, are the ancient people of this geographic region. Today it is necessary to learn lessons from the past, focus on how to live on this earth in peace and harmony.

No one is able to embroil the Abkhaz, Georgians, Circassians, Chechens, Ossetians and other fraternal peoples living together in Turkey and the Caucasus.
