The work on bringing information about the genocide of the Ossetian people to the world community should be carried out every day, President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov said at the presentation of the thematic issue of the Russian Word in South Ossetia magazine at the South Ossetian State University on Tuesday.

“Today we are at the presentation of the issue of the journal dedicated to the genocide, under the auspices of which the year 2020 was held in our Republic. Undoubtedly, events dedicated to the tragic date were organized, and this work continues today, as it should be daily,” the President said.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the university for holding thematic scientific conferences, round tables, as well as a large-scale project in English, implemented by the South Ossetian State University TV.

Turning to the topic of the presentation of the magazine, Anatoly Bibilov noted that he would contribute to informing the world community about the genocide of Ossetians.

“There are many Russian-speaking people in the world, so our magazine will be a definite guide to bringing the reality of those distant years to many countries,” he said.

The head of state also expressed gratitude to the Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature (APRYAL), under the auspices of which the journal is published, for the selfless work to improve the level of knowledge in the Russian language.

The APRYAL President Zalina Tedeeva, in turn, emphasized that "the citizens of South Ossetia feel they are part of the Russian world, and teachers of Russian literature are its envoys in the Republic."

Tedeeva told about the content of the next 18th issue of the magazine, which had being published since 2013 through the efforts of the editorial board headed by Khansiat Kodalayeva.

“Today we are presenting the 18th issue of the journal dedicated to the genocide of the Ossetian people. The theme of the issue gathered and united us in a certain environment, in which everyone felt an increased responsibility. Materials were selected taking into account a wide range of readers.

The issue opens with the decree of President Anatoly Bibilov that 2020 has been declared the Year of Remembrance in connection with the centenary of the genocide of the Ossetian people, followed by a message from the head of state to the people. In it we saw the pain and sorrow of the entire people for the victims of those years and at the same time the president's firm determination to stop the actions of the genocidal policy and prevent a repetition of those terrible events,” she said.

Most of the publications in the publication, according to Tedeeva, are devoted to the topic of genocide.

“It is covered in scientific articles by historians of the south and north of Ossetia - Givi Gatikoev, Yuri Dzizzoity, Konstantin Pukhaev, Konstantin Dzugaev. The recollections of compatriots about the genocide were presented by Russian teachers - Roza Valieva, Rusudan Gobozova, here is also the author's methodological development of the teacher Zaira Kabulova on how to use the painting by Makharbeg Tuganov "Shooting of 13 Communards" in the South Ossetian school. The issue also includes the works of the winners of the thematic presidential competition, an excerpt from our graduate's thesis, articles by Ruslan Dzattiaty, Claudia Dzhussoeva, and others, "Tedeeva emphasized.

The South Ossetian State University Rector Vadim Tedeev, for his part, focused on the contribution of APRYAL, the Russkiy Mir center, the literary living room of the university, the Russian world cabinet in Tskhinval School No. 6 in enriching the teaching of the Russian language in the Republic.

“Everyone perfectly understands that brotherhood with Russia is forever, and we cannot live without each other. We must go forward with a confident step, and it is in unity that our strength lies,” the rector said.

According to him, 46 events are planned through the Russian World Center and APRYAL this year, and the university will try to make it possible to hold each of them.

“If we talk about the work that APRYAL is doing today, it is necessary and significant. I would also like to express my deep gratitude to the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Khansisat Kodalayeva, thanks to whom the high level of the magazine is evident,” Vadim Tedeev noted.

Acting Minister of Education and Science Natalie Gassieva expressed her opinion on the next issue of the journal, focusing on the works of the winners of the presidential competition included in the publication.

“They got the opportunity to express themselves on the pages of the magazine together with the leading Russian specialists, this is a good motivation for every student. With great interest I got acquainted with the articles about historical processes, with no less pleasure I read the students who spoke about the genocide. This suggests that they reflected the memory of their family, which means the memory of the people,” explained the Acting Minister.

The Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, for his part, expressed gratitude to all experts in Russian language and literature «for the love of the Russian language, which has become a part of their soul."

“Thank you for your professionalism and such a reverent attitude towards the Russian language, which has become a part of your life. We, in turn, will continue to support you in every possible way,” he said.

Other participants also spoke at the presentation.
