A meeting was held between the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov and the acting head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov, the press service of the head of the South Ossetian state reported.
Anatoly Bibilov congratulated Sergei Melikov and, in his person, the entire Dagestan people on the Day of the Unity of the Peoples of Dagestan.
According to Bibilov, Dagestan, as one common house, consisting of a large number of nationalities, and interethnic friendship and unity are very significant for everyone, especially for Dagestan.
“It was demonstrated by the Dagestan people in 1999, when the militants attacked the republic, ,” said President of South Ossetia.
Sergei Melikov, for his part, has stressed that the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom of their native land will always be carefully preserved.
This also applies to those who died in order to ensure that today South Ossetia could live and develop freely.
“We always remember these people, without separating one brotherly nation from another. And if we talk about the Day of the Unity of the Peoples of Dagestan, then we are talking about the unity of all the peoples of Russia,” said Acting Head of Dagestan, welcoming the President of South Ossetia.
Anatoly Bibilov and Sergey Melikov discussed issues of interaction between Dagestan and South Ossetia, including the issues of building friendly intercultural ties.
