In South Ossetia, a new procedure for obtaining passes for crossing the South Ossetian-Georgian border has been introduced for residents of the Ksani Gorge and the Sinagur-Karzman zone. This was reported by the press service of the State Security Committee of the Republic.
According to the Committee, from now on, the established set of documents is submitted by the applicant to the administration of the Leningor or Dzau districts, which sends them to the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“Based on the results of verification activities aimed at confirming the information specified in the application, including regarding the fact of the applicant’s permanent residence in the settlements of the Ksani Gorge or the Sinagur-Karzman zone, the Border Guard Service of the KGB of the Republic issues him a pass to cross the South Ossetian-Georgian border,” the statement of the press service reads.
Further, this pass is sent by the Border Guard Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia to the relevant district administration for its issuance to the applicant.
The Committee has clarified that the innovations were introduced in order to optimize law enforcement procedures.
The State Security Committee focuses the attention of residents on the fact that the issuance of passes for crossing the South Ossetian-Georgian border is carried out exclusively by the Border Guard Service. At the same time, the district administrations only accept the necessary set of documents from applicants and issue ready-made passes to them.
