Minister of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, Ibrahim Gasseev, expressed his condolences to the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Alexander Kurenkov, in connection with the tragic death of the sappers of the Center for Special Risk Rescue Operations "Leader". This is reported by the press service of the South Ossetian rescue department.
Two sappers of the Leader Center of the EMERCOM of Russia, Senior Lieutenant Ilya Globa and Lieutenant Oleg Sergienko, were killed on May 18 during mine clearance in the Donetsk People's Republic.
Gaseev has noted that the deceased, courageously performing sapper work, served as an example of the highest professionalism and loyalty to their vocation.
He has also reminded that Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia has long-standing friendly relations with the Leader center.
"The coordinated actions of the detachment helped to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe after the war in August 2008. The "Leader" was repeatedly carrying out the work on demining the territories of South Ossetia from explosive objects," the text of the condolence message says.
On behalf of himself and the entire personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, Ibrahim Gasseev expressed his deep condolences to Kurenkov, as well as to all relatives and friends of the perished.
