Pupils and teachers of secondary school No. 2 in Tskhinval continue to weave camouflage nets for fighters from South Ossetia who are in the special military operation zone. They have already sent a batch of nets to the special military operation zone and received a lot of positive feedback from the guys from the front.
Now the Tskhinval School has 12 more nets in its arsenal. As director of the school Olga Mikhailidi told IA “Res”, now it is planned to weave a large batch of nets - 60 pieces. According to her, they already have material for the networks - President of the Republic, Alan Gagloev, helped them in acquiring it.
“Due to the timely assistance provided by the President, we were able to order the material and deliver it to the Republic on time. It is very difficult to find material for nets, because now all of Russia is busy with the volunteer movement, weaving these nets. We expect to weave 60 nets, but I don’t know how quickly we will do it. There are very few of us, we need more people,” Mikhailidi said.
According to her, the initiative group is engaged in weaving until late at night, but more people are needed for such a voluminous work.
“It doesn’t work as quickly as at school, because there were teachers, students and parents at the school, and we were all weaving nets together. And now we are few of, us because the holidays. From time to time, if possible, teachers, students, individuals from different organizations, my friends come, but still there are not enough hands. I just can't attract a large number of people who could come and help. It’s hard to pull so much work alone for days. In the meantime, the guys are waiting,”said the director.
Mikhailidi asks concerned citizens of the Republic to respond and help.
“The Youth Affairs Committee, students, districts could respond, allocate one day and help. Are we so fenced off from this war that we have forgotten about our guys who are fighting there? It would be nice if ateliers with sewing machines would respond, because the guys are asking for camouflage robes that can only be made on a sewing machine,” the director has complained.
She has noted that the foliage is running out and new nets are becoming even more necessary.
“We are also constantly looking for funds to purchase material. Autumn is coming, the foliage is ending, we need to buy materials of a different color and prepare for the winter. Now we are mastering two new weaving technologies - flat weaving, which will be needed when the forests become bare,” she noted.
Mikhailidi thanked everyone who is helping in making the nets.
“A low bow to my neighbors - the building of st. Herows, 25. They once came to help, and then decided that it would be more productive to weave nets in the yard, since most of the inhabitants were there. They equipped one wall for weaving and are weaving these nets very actively. Thanks also to individual residents of the Republic who are coming to help,” she said.
Now the initiative group is weaving nets in the State Television building, where, according to Mikhailidi, they were given premises. The director once again calls on all those who are not indifferent to the fate of the South Ossetian fighters participating in the special military zone, to come and help.
“If the Republic responded and people came to help, networks of any complexity would take less time,” she stressed.
