Defense Minister of South Ossetia Marat Pavlov took part in the opening ceremony of the XI Moscow Convention on International Security "Realities of global security in a multipolar world", the press service of the department reports.
Marat Pavlov is heading the delegation of the South Ossetian Defense Ministry, invited to the international military-technical Forum "Army-2023", within the framework of which the conference is being held.
Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the participants of the event. He has stated that open discussions on the topic of international security are important in the conditions of the formation of a multipolar world, and most countries today are ready to defend their sovereignty. The head of the Russian state pointed out that a multipolar world is being consistently formed today.
State Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Volfovich spoke on behalf of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. There were also speeches by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.
More than 800 delegates from 76 countries are taking part in the conference. Heads and representatives of the defense departments of states, international organizations, political science and expert communities are exchanging views on global and regional security issues.
Experts note that in 2023 the Moscow Conference on International Security is taking place in the context of global transformations and the complex military-political situation in the world that accompanies the formation of a multipolar world order.
Within the framework of the Forum plenary sessions "Military Aspects of Security in the Middle East and the African Continent", "Security in the Asia-Pacific Region", "Interaction between Military Departments: Conditions and Expectations" are being held. A meeting of the expert discussion club of the Moscow Conference on International Security "One World - Common Security" will also take place this evening.
