Russian parliamentarians have provided great assistance both in the political and methodological spheres from the very beginning of the formation of the South Ossetian state, Vyacheslav Gobozov, State Adviser to President of the Republic of South Ossetia, deputy of the Parliament of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd convocations, Chairman of the Fydybasta party, said during the Moscow-Tskhinval video bridge .
He has noted that after 2008 these relations reached a new level.
“The stage of interstate relations has begun. There are many different agreements between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the State Duma, the Federation Council of Russia. Both chambers of the Russian Parliament are very actively interacting with the Republic, both on the parliamentary line and outside it. The presentation of the South Ossetian State University in the Federation Council is one of the important events that we carried out with the help of the Russian parliamentarians,” he said.
The State Advisor to the President has noted that there is a huge potential for further development.
“I think that it is the South Ossetian parliamentarians who need to intensify cooperation in various areas. There are many issues that need to be addressed. These issues are of more interest to us, so the initiative should also come from us,” Gobozov said.
The State Advisor to the President has expressed hope that the existing vector of relations will be more actively pursued between the parliaments of Russia and South Ossetia.
