President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev proposed opening a monument in Tskhinval, Makhachkala and Nalchik dedicated to the friendship of writers Nafi Dzhusoity, Rasul Gamzatov and Kaisyn Kuliev.
“In the Caucasus, the entire older generation of the national intelligentsia is well aware of the great friendship of the three luminaries of literature of their peoples - Nafi Dzhusoity, Rasul Gamzatov and Kaisyn Kuliev. Their works, national in form and content, translated into the languages of the peoples of Russia and foreign countries, are deeply humanistic in their meaning, rising to the best examples of world literature,” the head of state said in his welcoming address to the participants of the round table “Creativity of Rasul Gamzatov in the context of multinational Russian Literature”, held on Friday at the South Ossetian State University.
The welcoming address was read out by State Advisor to the President Batradz Begizov.
According to the President, Dzhusoit, Gamzatov and Kuliev represent the integral component of the shining tower of pride of our peoples.
“Undoubtedly, the images of these three great sons of the Caucasus and all of Russia need to be immortalized for future generations, so that they serve as an example for young people to follow with their immortal creativity, their active life position and, most importantly, their great, powerful friendship. “I propose to open a monument in the capitals of all three republics, in Makhachkala, Tskhinval and Nalchik, one in triplicate, which will perpetuate the living image of the three friends,” the President has noted.
He has added that if this proposal is accepted, then the final word, of course, remains with the relevant creative commission.
“But it seems to me that the monument will symbolize friendship between the peoples of the Caucasus and reflect the friendly, fraternal feelings of the great poets. They should be captured in live communication, perhaps discussing creative issues,” the head of state has noted.
