The participation of the country's President Vladimir Putin in the upcoming Russian elections became the subject of discussion at the first meeting of the new Council of the Moscow Ossetian Community.
According to the organization's press service, Putin's confidant Valery Gazzaev made a proposal to support the nomination of the head of state for a new presidential term.
The initiative was supported by members of the organization.
Several issues were brought up for discussion at the Council meeting, one of the key ones being the structuring and formation of committees and commissions. Their number was reduced from 13 to 11.
Another important issue concerned the formation of the Youth and Student Council under the Moscow Ossetian Community. It is expected that it will include leaders of student communities of Moscow universities. Student representatives were invited to the first meeting, where they were suggested to become part of the organization.
The meeting also discussed the work plan for the coming year and outlined the key dates and events for 2024.
