Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev took part in a protocol event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on the creation of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
As reported by the press service of the South Ossetian Embassy, Gassiev took part in the event at the invitation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event, taken place in the Grand Mansion of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Russia, representatives of the diplomatic corps, heads of the executive structures of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, the EAEU, the CSTO, the CIS, and the media.
The Treaty on the Creation of the Union State was signed by presidents of Russia and Belarus on December 8, 1999.
Last week, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State was held, in which presidents of Russia and Belarus took part.
