The Geneva discussions today are the only opportunity to convey South Ossetia's position to the world community, Konstantin Kochiev, State Advisor to President of the Republic, said at the press conference on Tuesday.

The press conference was dedicated to the results of the 63rd round of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia.

"For a long time, the security issue has remained the central topic for South Ossetia within the framework of the Geneva Discussions," Kochiev said.

He also drew attention to the contradictory signals from Georgia.

"On the one hand, the Georgian political leaders declare their desire to build peaceful relations with the Ossetians and Abkhazians. On the other hand, the opposition is escalating the situation by calling for escalation of the conflict and using unacceptable expressions in their statements, such as calls for an attack on Tskhinval and Sukhum and the killing of "separatists," Kochiev has emphasized.

The State Advisor pointed out the need for close attention from South Ossetia to such statements in order to prevent the resumption of aggression against the Republic.
