Participants of the Geneva talks will continue to work on a document on the non-use of force

The co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia hope for progress in further work, in spite of the complex process of negotiation and the different interests of the parties, told the reporters in Tskhinval the EU co-chairman Herbert Salber.
He has noted that the previous round of discussions is successful, as the participants managed to express their positions on key issues on the agenda.
"At the upcoming round we will continue to work on the agreement on the non-use of force, which is very important for South Ossetia. We understand that the work is difficult, as all parties have their own interests and different positions,"- said Salber.
The EU representative has stressed that after the meetings in Georgia, where there have been recent reshuffle in the government, he does not think that Tbilisi will change its political orientation.
According to the UN representative Hailu Mamo, the co-chairs are optimistic, despite the upcoming hard work.
"I am confident that we will achieve results in all areas, including the agreement on the non-use of force," - he said.
He has also expressed hope that soon the negotiators will return to a discussion of the refugee problem within the framework of the Geneva discussions.
"The South Ossetian and Abkhaz sides have laid down conditions. These issues are discussed; we hope that sooner or later there will be a compromise that will allow us to discuss these issues in Geneva, as well as at other platforms. This is one of the important issues and all participants of the discussions have agreed with it, "- said the co-chair.
As for the work on the search for the missing persons, the OSCE co-chair Angelo Gnedinger has assured that he is doing everthing to clarify the fate of these people.
"We met with the relatives of the missing, and I am very disappointed that they still do not know anything about the fate of their loved ones. Mothers have the right to know what happened to their sons. We do our best to provide them with this information.
We are doing everything we can so that the Georgian authorities will continue to investigate these cases and this work did not stop, "- he said.
The next round of discussions is scheduled for December 9-10.
