The main topic of the next round of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia remains the developing a document on the nonuse of force in the region.
This has been reported to IA "Res" by the head of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks Boris Chochiev.
"The agenda is still the same - to discuss security issues of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as the humanitarian issues," - said Chochiev.
He pointed out that recently the United States and the international organizations have begun to use actively the term "occupied territories" in relation to South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"Within one year and a half, we have been declaring that this term is applied to us unduly. We have an opportunity by consent of all participants of the discussions in Geneva to raise other issues, so we have proposed the inclusion of this topic, "- said Chochiev.
He noted that with the exception of Russia and Abkhazia, the other participants of the discussions were against the proposal of the South Ossetian delegation.
"But at the last round we have raised this issue rigidly. Otherwise, we had a right to reconsider our further participation in the discussions,"-said the head of the delegation.
He said, the South Ossetian side had obtained consideration of this issue not only at the plenary session, but also at the information session, where usually are invited the international experts.
"We `ll learn their opinion on the legality of using the term "the occupied territories "," - said Chochiev.
During the 20th round it is also planned to discuss a draft document on the non-use of force in Transcaucasia, proposed by the Russian delegation at the previous meeting in Geneva.
"At the 19th round everybody seemed to support the interim version of this statement on the non-use of force, but nevertheless the Georgian side and the international organizations have begun to bypass this issue," - underlined the head of the South-Ossetian delegation.
According to Chochiev, it is also planned to discuss the issues of detainees, missing persons, gas supply of Leningor district of South Ossetia.
In his view, the forthcoming round will be of great importance for South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Russia.
"Theplatformof the Geneva discussions needs to be used maximally. We have the opportunity to convey our position to the international community. Pros a little, but we should use those that we have"- stressed Chochiev. He also commented on the recent statement by the OSCE's intention to re-open an office in Tskhinval. According to Chochiev, such a statement could only be made by a person who was entirely unfamiliar with the position of South Ossetia in relation to this organization since August 2008. "The OSCE has contributed to the plan of an adventurer Saakashvili. This organization, that was monitoring the situation in South Ossetia, concealed the cherished plans of the Georgian leadership from the international community. And most importantly - they subsequently did not give any assessment of the actions of the Georgian authorities "- the official recalled. He has noted that according to the repeated statements by leaders of the Republic, the OSCE has the opportunity to return to South Ossetia, if they fulfill all the necessary conditions. The chief among them, according to Chochiev, is the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and the objective assessment of the actions of Georgia and the organization itself in August 2008.
Chochiev also told about the changes in the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks, due to the appointment of former Foreign Minister Murat Dzhioev to the post of Plenipotentiary of the President for post-conflict settlement.
He underlined that he would probably participate in the forthcoming round for the last time - in the future the leadership of the Republic is planning to involve the young professionals in this process.
"We have a young potential, which should gain experience, including at the Geneva talks. This task was assigned by President and the candidates are already being considered ", - assured Chochiev.
It should be reminded, that the 20th round of Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia is scheduled for June 7-8.
