Russian representatives of the Interagency Working Group together with members of the South Ossetian government discussed the issues for improving the legislation of the Republic. The meeting was attended by Vice-Premier Alla Dzhioeva, Presidential Adviser on Social Affairs Rodion Siukaev, Finance Minister Aza Khabalova, Health Minister Grigory Kulidzhanov, Justice Minister Murat Vaneev and representatives of other ministries and agencies.
The Acting Chairman of the Interdepartmental Working Group Roman Denisov introduced the main purpose of the group.
"The main purpose is - to study the existing legislation in the field of housing policy, the development of recommendations for its improvement or suggestions on the development of the regulations, which in our view are required to resolve the problems in the housing policy" - he said.
Russian experts noted the gaps in the existing housing legislation. In particular, they focused on the lack of transparency in the distribution of housing, the lack of registration and preservation of the housing fund.
"There is no any information on the amount of housing in the Republic, as well as on the emergency, repaired, commissioned housing" - emphasized Denisov.
Russian experts voiced their recommendations that would contribute to the further fruitful work of the Interagency Working Group. In particular, representatives of the South Ossetian side were recommended a detailed registration of all the buildings in the Republic, the owners and the state of housing, as well as to draw a plan for further development of the housing policy.
At the meeting were also discussed other issues related to the situation in the housing sector of South Ossetia.
