President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, headed the official delegation arrived in Donetsk to participate in celebrations to mark the fifth anniversary of the proclamation of the Donetsk People's Republic, press secretary of the head of state Dina Gassieva told the “Res“ews agency.
According to her, Anatoly Bibilov will attend solemn events in honor of the of Republic Day, a number of meetings and other important events are also scheduled.
The South Ossetian delegation also includes Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev, Defense Minister Ibrahim Gasseev, Interior Minister Igor Naniev, Chairman of the Supreme Court Olesya Kochiev, Deputy of the Republic’s Parliament, leader of the People’s Party Alexander Pliev and others.
On Friday, in honor of the deceased head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, a memorial plaque was installed on the school building in Donetsk, where he studied. Now on the basis of the school operates the cadet corps named after Zakharchenko. The plaque opened the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“We are really indebted to the first head of the Republic, he headed it in the most difficult period, when nothing was clear and we had to live for one day, one hour. But Alexander Vladimirovich loved and appreciated his land. Of course, he loved his school it was not for nothing that the first cadet corps was opened within the walls of his school, "Pushilin said at the opening ceremony.
According to the President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, in the life of every person there are people who leave a mark. “I am proud and happy that I was familiar with such an outstanding countryman,” the President stressed. He has also expressed confidence that the Cadets will become worthy followers of Alexander Zakharchenko and that the Donetsk People's Republic will flourish.
In turn, the State Duma deputy Kazbek Taysaev said that State Duma deputies suggested calling one of the streets of Moscow in the name of Alexander Zakharchenko, with this initiative they turned to the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Also at the rally, made a speech the first teacher of Alexander Zakharchenko Alla Obolenskaya, schoolchildren read poems of their own, dedicated to the Hero of the DPR.

"Today, together with President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, State Duma deputy of the Russian Federation Kazbek Taysaev I took part in the opening ceremony of a memorial plaque in honor of the first Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko. It was established at the base of Alexander Vladimirovich’s school where the Cadet Corps was opened.
Alexander Vladimirovich became an example for the people. His whole life is inextricably linked with the Donbas, with its history and glorious traditions. He gave his life for the freedom and independence of the Republic ... But his feat is alive, " wrote Pushilin.
Guests from Russia, the Lugansk People’s Republic, Abkhazia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia also arrived to participate in the festivities in the DPR.
The Republic Day in the DPR is celebrated on May 11. On this day in 2014, was held a referendum on self-determination. The vast majority of citizens voted for the sovereignty of Donbass.
