Participants of the first theatrical festival “The Living Pictures of Kosta”, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of a founder of the Ossetian literature, poet, painter, playwright and publicist Kosta Khetagurov,, will be encouraged by a trip to the Bolshoi or Mariinsky Theater, said Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of South Ossetia Valentina Gatikoeva.
“We decided to arrange a trip to one of these theaters for the winners of the festival, but we were so impressed by all the dramatization that we want to encourage all the guys. The schoolchildren touched upon such serious topics that it was impossible to remain indifferent from to their play, which showed that our youth and children are more serious and mature than many adults,” she said.
The theatrical festival “The Living Pictures of Costa”, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the founder of the Ossetian literature - Kost Levanovich Khetagurov, was held in December last year in the capital of South Ossetia.
The event was attended by theatrical circles of secondary schools of Tskhinval. Demonstration programs for Kosta's paintings were presented by schools No. 9, No. 11, No. 12, and the gymnasium “Albion,”
The purpose and objectives of the festival are to develop the artistic and aesthetic perception of painting by young people, actualization of the cultural heritage of the Ossetian people through the works and paintings of Kosta Khetagurov, as well as organize useful leisure activities and develop creative initiatives of the younger generation.
