On Tuesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia issued a statement stressing that any military exercises involving Georgia were considered as a provocation aimed at deliberately swaying the military-political situation in Transcaucasia.

The statement was spread in connection with the joint military exercises of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia "Eternity-2022" from October 17 to 28.

"In the Republic of South Ossetia, any military exercises with the participation of the aggressor country Georgia are of serious concern and are considered as a provocative step aimed at deliberately swaying the military-political situation in Transcaucasia," the report says.

At the same time, it is noted that the increase in the concentration of the NATO armed forces in Georgia and regular military exercises, the scale of which is growing every year, do not contribute to strengthening regional security, but, on the contrary, such actions stimulate the growth of tension in Transcaucasia. "It is noteworthy that on the eve of the NATO summit in Madrid, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the Alliance's intention to expand support for Georgia, including holding joint military exercises," the Foreign Ministry said.

Despite the steps taken by official Tbilisi against the backdrop of the ongoing special operation in Donbass to prevent an escalation of the situation on the South Ossetian-Georgian border and statements about non-alignment with sanctions against Russia, there are no illusions in South Ossetia about the peaceful intentions of Georgia, which does not leave attempts to resolve the issue with South Ossetia. Ossetia by force, they believe in Tskhinval.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia called on all parties interested in maintaining peace to pay attention to the dangerous development of the situation in the region.
