The Border Service of the KGB of South Ossetia has been regularly noting the facts of violations of the state border of the Republic by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from the territory of Georgia to film the border zone of the Republic, the press service of the department reported.
“These provocative actions are in most cases committed in the presence and with the connivance of the Georgian police officers. We believe that the video materials received, which record the daily activities of the South Ossetian border guards to protect and equip the state border, are subsequently used in the interests of preparing public opinion in Georgia about the alleged “creeping occupation of the "country," the press service said.
It was noted that "considering that modern UAVs can be used to carry out sabotage and terrorist actions by moving means of destruction across the state border, the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia regards the facts of the invasion of the Georgian aircraft into the airspace of South Ossetia as a threat to the security of the Republic."
