President Alan Gagloev congratulated Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' on the 1035th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' and the Day of Remembrance of the Baptist of Rus', St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir.
“This event determined the fate of the peoples of Russia for many hundreds of years, laid the indestructible foundation for their spiritual life and cultural development. Today, as well as more than a thousand years ago, Russian Orthodoxy affirms high ethical principles, carefully preserving the invaluable spiritual, historical and cultural traditions and values of Russia,” the President’s congratulation reads.
Gagloev has also expressed confidence that the common spiritual values and close ties between Russia and South Ossetia, sealed by the common Orthodox faith, will continue to develop and strengthen.
The President wished the Patriarch good health, many years of life and the help of Christ in his archpastoral labors and high service as Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
