The removal of the illegal Georgian police checkpoint from the territory of the village of Uista in South Ossetia has once again become one of the points of discussion within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) format. This was reported to the representatives of the mass media by Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of President of the Republic of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement, the head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM Egor Kochiev.

The 121st meeting was held in the border village of Ergnet on Thursday.

"As a rule, we mention this checkpoint every time. Negotiations in this direction are underway, and I want to say that they are quite difficult. However, we have no right not to talk about this problem. We will ensure that this illegal police post is removed from the South Ossetian territory," Kochiev said.

The next meeting in the IPRM format is scheduled for November 12. The IPRM meetings are held within the framework of the Geneva Discussions on Security in the Caucasus. Representatives of South Ossetia, Russia, Georgia, the European Union and the OSCE are participating in the dialogue.
