The South Ossetian delegation left for Geneva to participate in the 6th round of Geneva discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus planned for 1 July, the Special Representative for Post Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiev told IA RES.
According to Chochiev, "the 6th round of Geneva discussions on security and stability in the SOuth Caucasus will fully focus on security issues. We are taking with us a draft Memorandum on non-use if force and we expect that the EU and other international organizations will engage in the discussion on this problem".
"The security issue is crucial for us. We need guarantees that Georgia will not perfidiously attack our country again. I would like to remind that so far the legally bounding document guaranteeing non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia foreseen by the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreements has not been signed, and today it is necessary to take into account the threats caused by remilitarization of Georgia and the revanchist plans of its authorities", underscored Chochiev.

According to Boris Chochiev, on the threshold of the Geneva talks, consultations with the representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia were held at the RF MFA.
The South Ossetian delegation is headed by the Special Representative for Post-Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiev. The delegation also includes the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the RSO Murat Djioev and the State Advisor to the RSO President Konstantin Kochiev. Representatives of Russia, Abkhazia, Georgia, the United States, EU, OSCE and UN are participating in the talks.
The first three rounds of talks did not yield any concrete results. Moreover, the first round on 15 October 2008 almost failed because Georgia refused to sit at the negotiation table together with the delegations from South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
The forth round of talks held on 17-18 February happened to be the most fruitful out of the rest. The participants to the talks managed to agree on a document to propose mechanisms for prevention and settlement of incidents in Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The fifth round did not bring any concrete decisions or solutions either.
