In Geneva has completed the 26 round of discussions on security in Transcaucasia. As the news agency "Res" has been reported over the phone from Geneva by Presidential Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, the head of the South Ossetian delegation Murat Dzhioev, at the current round the participants have focused on security in the region and on non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Participants of the meeting discussed the situation along the Georgian- South Ossetian border. As stated by members of the South Ossetian delegation, the situation on the border was aggravated by the Georgian side.
"For our part, we have stated that the state border regime and the frontier conform to the laws of South Ossetia, once again offering the Georgian side to conduct joint activities to define a border line," - said Dzhioev.
According to him, the South Ossetian delegation reminded the co-chairs that the primary objective of the discussions was to develop the legally binding agreements on the non-use of force.
During the discussions the participants were also working on the joint declaration on commitment to the principle of non-use of force.
"Due to the fact that we again did not agree on the text, the South Ossetian delegation invited the panellists at least to declare verbally the commitment to the non-use of force. But the Georgian side was not ready for this step," - said Dzhioev.
He has also noted that as the step to ensure the safety the Georgian side was again offered to exchange prisoners kept in Georgia and South Ossetia on the principle "all for all" .
"Also were discussed questions on searching for the missing persons and a number of humanitarian issues," - said the envoy.
He has added that the day before were held bilateral and trilateral consultations of the South Ossetian delegation with other delegations and representatives of the international organizations.
