Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoyev sent a telegram with words of support to the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh Masis Mayilyan.
"South Ossetia has been following the development of the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh with great concern and attention. The brutal and bloody war, which claimed thousands of human lives, at the cost of huge sacrifices, once again proved that in the civilized world, force methods of resolving controversial issues are not acceptable. A large number of irretrievable losses and spent resources did not bring the desired military victory to Azerbaijan and the achievement of its goals. The war once again showed that the solution of the Karabakh problem lies exclusively in the political plane and requires an intellectual approach, rejection of militarism and man-hating ideology. Only diplomatic methods can be used to achieve a mutually acceptable solution for the parties, " the telegram addressed to the foreign Minister of Artsakh reads.
According to Medoev, the deployment of Russian peacekeeping forces in the combat zone gives hope for the establishment of peace and stability in the region, "the creation of conditions for political dialogue."
“I am confident that based on the experience of the very successful peacekeeping operation of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia in 1992-2008, the format should include representatives of all interested parties without exception. I address condolences to the families of the victims, words of support and compassion for the injured and wounded. We admire the heroism of the defenders ща Artsakh, selflessly opposing the superior forces of the armies of the two countries, which actively usedthe latest technologies of hybrid war of the 5th generation. I wish peace and stability to the brotherly people of Artsakh, early healing of the war wounds and restoration of destroyed infrastructure, "Medoev said.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh from November 10. A Russian peacekeeping contingent will be deployed to Nagorno Karabakh.
The Russian leader has expressed hope that the agreements reached between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan will create conditions for a long-term settlement of the crisis in the region.
According to the agreements, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides must exchange prisoners of war, and all transport nodal points in Karabakh will be unblocked. In addition, Russian peacekeepers will be stationed in the region.
The territorial conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh escalated sharply on September 27, after Azerbaijan announced provocations from the Armenian side and launched an offensive. Since then, the parties have agreed on a ceasefire three times, but each time these agreements were not observed.
