As of the morning of November 20, 155 people are in the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center (RMMC) of South Ossetia in the "red zone", 46 more patients are being treated at the Russian military hospital in Tskhinval. “Today 41 patients are being treated in the infectious diseases building of the RMMC, and 114 in the building of the children's hospital. There are 8 people in the intensive care unit. Seven people are on non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Over the past day, 11 people were admitted, discharged from the hospital for outpatient follow-up care -6. One person was evacuated outside the Republic,” the doctor said.
According to Dzhioeva, the admission and triage department of the RMMC on Thursday examined 111 patients, of whom eleven were hospitalized.
"50 patients were tested in the reception and triage center; 12 people were referred for computed tomography of the chest. Five people were hospitalized at the RMMC, 6 were sent to a military hospital," said the chief infectious disease specialist.
Dzhioeva has noted that over the past day, mobile teams have tested 6 patients at home.
The chief infectious disease specialist of the Republic has appealed to the population to observe all preventive measures to counter the spread of the new coronavirus infection.
“Patients whom we discharge for outpatient follow-up treatment must strictly follow the prescribed appointments and recommendations of the attending physician. This involves observing a medical and protective regime, a sanitary-epidemiological regime, and taking medications in order to continue therapy. Patients are also required to comply with the self-isolation regime for at least two weeks, these recommendations must be followed strictly,” said the chief infectious disease specialist of the Republic.
An earnest request to our fellow citizens is to take care of yourself, wear protective equipment, use disinfectants, avoid unnecessary contacts as well as staying in crowded places, Dzhioeva emphasized.
“And also, to treat with understanding the prohibition to transfer anything other than drinking water, fruit and personal hygiene products to the red zone to the red zone at a strictly designated time. The patients' nutrition is under control and complies with the standards of the medical institution,” the doctor added.
