In the capital of South Ossetia, on Monday, a meeting was held between the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement Murat Dzhioev and the Presidential Ombudsman Inal Tasoev with the ICRC Regional Coordinator for Missing Persons Karina Svefelt, the ICRC Regional Coordinator for Forensic Science, Senem Shkul , the Head of the Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in South Ossetia Carmen Echesaretta.
According to the press service of the Plenipotentiary, an employee of the Tskhinval office of the ICRC Nana Tedeeva also took part in the meeting.
During the conversation, they discussed issues of interaction in the field of clarifying the fate of the missing. The ICRC representatives informed about plans to expand activities in the search for missing persons. The parties noted with satisfaction the intensification of interaction between the participants of the Trilateral Coordination Mechanism to clarify the fate of the missing, operating under the auspices of the ICRC, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
The South Ossetian participants in the meeting expressed their gratitude to the ICRC for the assistance provided.
