Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia clarified the rights of Russian citizens who received call-up papers for mandatory attendance at military enlistment offices

Parliament of South Ossetia has published a response to the request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, in which the Foreign Ministry explains the rights of Russian citizens who have received summons for mandatory attendance at military registration and enlistment offic as part of the partial mobilization announced in the Russian Federation.

The matter is about citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in the territory of South Ossetia and being employees of the state authorities or power ministries and departments of the Republic of South Ossetia.

“For the information, I inform you that the Ministry has received a note from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia with the information that citizens of the Russian Federation who have received call-up papers for mandatory attendance at military registration and enlistment office as part of the partial mobilization announced in the Russian Federation, permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia and who are employees of the state authorities or law enforcement ministries and departments of the Republic of South Ossetia, have the right to apply to the Russian military registration and enlistment office that issued call-up papers to obtain a certificate of permission to travel outside the Russian Federation for up to six months," the Foreign Ministry said in the letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, published on the official website.

It is also reported that for this purpose it is required to provide the following documents: a certificate of service (from the place of work); ID card of a reserve officer of the Russian Federation, military ID; certificate of military registration in the Republic of South Ossetia; identity card (service ID) of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The note also indicates that military registration in the military registration and enlistment offices in the Russian Federation are citizens of the Russian Federation who served in the North Ossetian peacekeeping battalion, which was part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces (JPKF) in the zone of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict in the period from 1992 to 2008, as well as as part of the 4th Russian military base stationed on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, and receiving monetary allowances.
