On the eve of the next round of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia, Tskhinval will host a meeting on Tuesday between the OSCE, the UN and the EU co-chairs of the discussions with their South Ossetian colleagues, the press service of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement told IA “Res”.
As noted by the department, the parties will discuss the agenda of the upcoming 57th round of the Geneva discussions. As before, the main issue on the agenda is the signing of a legally binding document on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
The South Ossetian delegation is headed by State Advisor to the President Konstantin Kochiev. The Geneva format allows South Ossetia to clearly define its vector and convey its position to the international community.
After a long break due to the coronavirus pandemic, in October of this year, the 56th round of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia was held in Geneva with the participation of representatives of Abkhazia, Georgia, South Ossetia, the Russian Federation and the United States under the co-chairmanship of the UN, OSCE and the European Union.
