Members of the South Ossetian Parliament took part in the 12th Baltic Forum of Compatriots in St. Petersburg.

As reported by the press service of the Parliament, the Republic was represented at the event by Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations Zaza Driaev and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Policy, Culture, Religion and Media Ruslan Khubezhty.

The Forum discussed current issues of assisting compatriots in realizing their civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights and freedoms.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with People's Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theater Larisa Gergieva.

Gagloev thanked Gergieva for organizing the international festival-competition "Path of Galati" in South Ossetia, despite her busy schedule.

Larisa Gergieva has emphasized that she wants to contribute to the development of the culture of South Ossetia and expressed her intention to continue holding the festival-competition of children's and youth creativity named after Boris Galaev "Path of Galati".

A meeting of the delegation of the South Ossetian Parliament headed by Speaker Alan Margiev with deputies of the A Just Russia - For Truth faction took place at the State Duma. This was reported by the press service of the RSO legislative body.

The head of the veterinary department of Ministry of Agriculture of South Ossetia, Atsamaz Tedeev, took part online in the international scientific and practical conference in Krasnodar, dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the faculty of veterinary medicine of the Kuban State Agrarian University.

As Atsamaz Tedeev told IA “Res”, the event had brought together representatives of veterinary services from different regions of Russia, and representatives of veterinary services from South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Belarus had taken part online in the conference.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Tskhinval between the councils of young diplomats of the foreign ministries of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The document was signed by the chairmen of the councils of the two republics, Aleksey Sanakoev and Astanda Pataraia.

As noted by Aleksey Sanakoev, the purpose of the Memorandum is to establish direct ties between the councils of young diplomats of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as to discuss issues of mutual interest.

A delegation of the South Ossetian Parliament took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow. This was reported by the press service of the Republic’s legislative body.

The parliamentary delegation of South Ossetia is participating in the international conference "The Role of Interaction of Factions of Political Parties and Blocs in the Inter-parliamentary Cooperation of the CIS Countries", which is being held in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The effective development of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia was discussed by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Margiev, the official website of the State Duma reports.

The meeting of the speakers took place on Tuesday in Moscow.

Vyacheslav Volodin has emphasized that Russia and South Ossetia have special relations.
