Practical shooting competitions in South Ossetia gave the athletes an excellent opportunity for professional growth, President of the Practical Shooting Federation of Russia Mikhail Gushchin noted during the award ceremony for the winners and prize winners of the international practical shooting competitions in South Ossetia.

More than 100 shooters from twelve countries took part in the competitions.

October marks four years since the establishment of the South Ossetian trade mission in Russia. During this time, the mission has made significant steps in strengthening trade and economic ties, promoting South Ossetian goods on the Russian market. Murat Gassiev defeated the Dane Kem Ljungqvist in the main fight of the IBA Night of Champions tournament in Yerevan.

Gassiev knocked out his opponent in the last minute of the fifth round.

The victory was the 31st in the Ossetian athlete's professional career with two defeats. Ljungqvist suffered his first defeat with 18 victories.

The last time Gassiev entered the ring was in September 2023. Then he lost to the Swede Otto Wallin by split decision in Belek, Turkey.

A traditional online meeting with the coordination councils of the Russian compatriots organizations (KSORS) was held at the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in South Ossetia on the eve of the 50th anniversary meeting of the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots and the VIII World Congress of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, the Russian House in Tskhinval reports.

Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia, headed by Speaker Alan Margiev, visited a fighter Vladimir Naniev in the village of Dzau, wounded in the special military operation zone, the press service of the legislative body reports.

Alan Margiev has noted that not only the deputies, but the entire Ossetia is proud of the courage and heroism shown by the Ossetian guys in the special operation zone.

“We are all looking forward to the return of all our fighters who are today in different parts of the front and winning victory on the battlefield.

International practical shooting competition is being held in South Ossetia at a high level, as last year, Alan Alborov, Chairman of the Practical Shooting Council of St. Petersburg, said at еру press conference in Tskhinval.

"As a friendly country for the Russian Federation, South Ossetia has provided a venue for holding international practical shooting competition for the second time.

This is a very important step that will allow Russian athletes to take part in the international competitions," he said.

South Ossetia has been invited to the International Youth Forum "The Future of the Russian World" in Moscow. The event is organized by the government of the Russian capital together with the Moscow House of Compatriots.

The Forum is open to young Russian compatriots born in 1989-2006 who live outside of Russia.

As reported by the organizers, the Forum is held with the aim of strengthening ties with young Russian compatriots living abroad, expanding and strengthening the community of young Russian compatriots.

I assess the work of the permanent commission on cooperation between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation as fruitful and constructive, noted the head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary relations, co-Chairman of the Commission Zaza Driaev.

A new composition of the permanent commission was previously approved at the parliamentary session.

The delegation from South Ossetia headed by the Chairman of the Government Konstantin Dzhussoev took part in the farewell ceremony for the prominent political and state figure of the Republic of South Ossetia Rezo (Gerasim) Khugaev.

One of the founders of the South Ossetian Republic died on October 22 at the age of 79. He was buried on Thursday in Vladikavkaz.
